How Does SDA Funding Work?

SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) funding is a specific category of funding within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that supports individuals with significant functional impairments or high support needs in accessing suitable housing solutions.

The NDIS pays for most of your rent through your SDA funding so all you may have to pay is what’s called a ‘reasonable rent contribution’. This rental contribution consists of 25% of your disability support pension plus any Commonwealth Rent Assistance you get.
